Hedge Reductions, Hedge Trimming & Winter Garden Tidies

Autumn is the best time to get hedges back under control and the garden ready for winter. We cover Stourbridge, Dudley, Kingswinford, Brierley Hill and surrounding areas.

Our Autumn & Winter Services

Hedge Reductions

Hedges that have got too tall or too wide cut back hard to a manageable height and width. Autumn and winter are the best time for this — growth has slowed and the bird nesting season is over, so we can take hedges right back without disturbing wildlife.

  • Height and width reductions
  • Overgrown conifers, laurel, privet and more
  • All cuttings cleared and taken away

Hedge Trimming

A final tidy trim before winter keeps hedges neat, dense and healthy through the colder months, and gives them a head start when growth returns in spring.

  • Clean, straight lines and tops
  • Front, back and boundary hedges
  • One-off trims or regular visits

Winter Garden Tidies

Get the garden ready for winter so it's easy to bring back to life in spring. We clear leaves, cut back borders, give the lawn its last cut and leave everything tidy.

  • Leaf clearance from lawns, paths and borders
  • Cutting back perennials and tidying borders
  • Final lawn cut and edging

Autumn & Winter FAQs

Why reduce a hedge in autumn or winter?

Hedges grow more slowly in the colder months, so a reduction stays tidy for longer. It's also outside the main bird nesting season (roughly March to August), which means we can cut back harder without disturbing nesting birds.

What's the difference between hedge trimming and a hedge reduction?

Trimming tidies up the new growth and keeps the hedge in shape. A reduction takes the hedge back significantly in height and/or width — ideal for hedges that have got out of hand or are blocking light.

Do you take the waste away?

Yes. All hedge cuttings, leaves and garden waste are cleared and removed, so you're left with a tidy garden.

Which areas do you cover?

We cover Stourbridge, Dudley, Kingswinford, Brierley Hill and surrounding areas. If you're not sure we cover you, just get in touch.
